It's hard to pass a beautiful pink house and refrain yourself from taking photographs outside. It's like an unwritten Instagram rite of passage. I came back to London from my trip to Athens a few days ago now and it was such a beautiful city – more details up on my blog soon! But now, I'm planning my next trip to Cuba – I remember booking it during exam season, and now there's only a week left, time goes so quickly! I. am. so. excited! Be sure to follow my Instagram to stay up to date!

Anyway, I love playsuits in the summer, and this one is my new favourite. I'm usually not one for florals, but in the summer, I make the exception. I couldn't pass this up when I saw it in the sale at American Eagle Outfitters. It encapsulates all spring/summer trends that I love – ruffles, florals and muted colours. Again, I've paired this outfit with my trusty pair of Veja trainers, a great staple in any suitcase, and one I'll definitely be bringing to Cuba too!

BB creams, abbreviated for beauty balm, acts as an all-in-one product – packed with moisturising properties, vitamins, and other skin goodness, (makeup) coverage, sunscreen and more – hence why it's risen in such popularity in recent years. There is so much choice on the market, with almost all brands offering their take on the BB cream. So here, I've narrowed down my current favourites:

DR. JART+ Premium BB Beauty Balm
For beach days, or just lazy days, this is perfect. Coverage is light yet it immediately gives a lovely glow to the skin – giving the illusion of perfect skin. The formula instantly sinks into the skin and adapts to your skin colour. It's also formulated with SPF and antioxidant bio-peptides making it the ideal formula to have on your beach holidays. However, the only setback is there is only one shade to their BB cream, I'm unsure how well it would work on other skin colours, but for me, it adapts perfectly to my skin in the summer and winner.

KLAIRS Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream
I love the formula and finish of this product, and that it has 40SPF. It covers up any redness and diminishes the look of spots as a result. It's perfect for those who have oily skin since it is does have a velvet yet illuminating finish. It mutes the redness of the skin, but doesn't give full coverage, giving an effortless and natural finish, with the skin still showing through. Unfortunately though, I would only recommend this for those who have pale skin, ranging from MAC's 20-25 perhaps; and those with darker skin tones, opt and use it as a highlighter perhaps, since it does have an illuminating finish. Another plus is that there is no grey cast upon application, a rare siting in Korean BB creams.

I've mentioned this product on a previous post, although it isn't a BB cream, it is a CC cream, a colour correcting cream, hence there is only one universal shade. It just adapts to your skin tone, colours corrects all redness, darkness and adds a lovely tint and glow to your complexion. This is definitely my favourite one, and it also works really well underneath your foundation, since it has a brightening and illuminating effect, making your skin look lit from within, when foundation is applied over it.

It's hard to find the perfect BB cream since there is a limited shade range, from only 1 shade to perhaps 5. My tip is, for those who have lighter skintones, browse through Korean brands, since they cater towards more paler skin tones, and the rest of us, perhaps look towards Western brands. Another BB favourite of mine is the MISSHA BB Cushion, but it is too moisturising for me during the summer months, so I tend to use it during the winter. Their shade range is a little more extensive in comparison to other Korean brands.

If you still haven't been able to find your perfect BB cream, I would highly recommend you use the site, who have tested over 100 BB creams, and selected their top 5! After I finish my BB creams, I'm definitely going to purchase the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue or the Dior Nude BB Creme – I've only heard good things from them!
